The most competent entrance exam, NEET, of the year is here. Talking about the preparation, it is going in full swing. While everything seems to be falling in place, there’s only one thing that aspirants are worried about. It is to register for NEET 2018 exam. Guys, good news is the NEET registration has already started and you should not just sit till the last minute to fill the form.

NEET, which is otherwise known as National Eligibility cum Entrance Exam, is conducted yearly by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to filter out students who can actually enrol in MBBS/BDS courses in various colleges and universities across the country. Every medical aspirant must keep in mind that NEET is the only exam or you can also term it “the only gateway” to study in top-notch medical institutions in the country, except AIIMS and JIPMER. Qualify the exam and there’s no stopping in getting admission.

Easy Methods to Submit NEET 2018 Application Form:

Now that you are all set to fill the application form for NEET exam, you must match the eligibility criteria, have gone through the Information Bulletin and gathered authentic information. NEET exam seekers are required to fill the form in 4 simple steps.

Note: You can submit only one application form. Submitting multiple applications can result in rejection of your candidature.

Step 1: Fill the application form online and take down the registration number

  • Visit the official website http://cbseneet.nic.in/
  • Click on the Apply On-line It will direct you to open the Proceed to apply online NEET (UG) 2018 link.
  • Put all important information and details like your educational qualification, name, address, etc. without making any mistake. (Remember, any input of wrong info will not be entertained by the Board)
  • Once you are done with the formalities, check for the last time. If you find some details are given by mistake, choose the Reset option and make the amendments. If everything is fine and you are 100 per cent satisfied, click on Next and Preview.
  • Then Submit and get the Provisional Registration Number. The registration number is sent to your registered mobile number and email ID. Keep it for future reference.

After submission of the application form, you get two choices – to continue with the filling process or to complete the process later. If you go with the first choice, choose continue to go ahead and do the remaining formalities of filling the form. If chosen later, you can come back again at any time. But don’t forget to resume the process before the last date of online submission.

#Step 2: Upload scanned photo and signature

  • This link will ensure that you have uploaded your photograph and signature.
  • The photograph size should be between 10 to 100 KB. The signature size should be between 3 to 20 KB. (Follow the format)
  • Once uploaded the details, you will be automatically directed to step 3 where you will remit the fee.

#Step 3: Make payment

  • Make payment using three options – credit/debit card, e-wallet and net banking/UPI.

#Step 4: Take out print of ‘Confirmation Page’ after successful fee remittance

  • This is time you should get a print out of the Confirmation Page. All the applicants are advised to keep both the confirmation page and the proof of fee payment in safe for future reference.

Note: Although all the four steps can be done in a single go, students can opt for doing it individually or separately. But remember that you need to complete the procedure within the prescribed duration.

Who Can Apply NEET Exam 2018?

Appearing in this particular medical exam takes a lot of things into consideration. Let’s delve deeper and understand who can get an entry to the NEET exam centre. Do you match the following eligibility criteria of National Entrance cum Eligibility Test?

Age: Candidates aged between 17 (lower age) and 25 (upper age) years old are allowed to sit in the exam. Ensure that you meet the age criteria. Aspirants belonging to ST/SC/OBC category get 5 years relaxation.

Number of Attempts: SC/ST/OBC category candidates can apply for 14 times, while general category students are allowed to sit for 9 times.

Nationality: Citizens of India, OCIs (Oversees Citizen of India), NRIs (Non Resident Indians), FN (Foreign Nationals) and PIOs (Persons of Indian Origin) are qualified to appear in NEET UG 2018.

Aadhaar Card Mandatory: To apply for this exam, students (Indian nationals) need to have valid aadhaar card.

Qualifying Exam/Subjects/Percentage: An aspirant must have passed 12th. CBSE can consider allowing a student to sit in the NEET exam if he or she is pursuing 10+2 or equivalent exam from a notable institution or board. Moreover, you must keep in mind that securing 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (for general category), 40% (for general PH) and 45% (SC/ST/OBC category).

Keep These Essential Documents Ready while Submitting NEET Application Form:

  • A valid/active aadhaar card with correct names. The aadhaar number is used for NEET application form submission.
  • Ensure that the mobile number and email ID that you will use during the process is with you or with your parents and valid. This will come in handy for the Board to communicate via email or SMS. (Input of wrong email ID and mobile number will result in rejection of the application form and the Board won’t be held accountable).
  • Scanned photograph and signature.
